You create your account and register your band in a single step: its name and its type. From the type, the app switches on the modules a band like yours usually uses, and you become its main admin.

On Home you’ll find “First steps”, a short guide to get everything ready: check the modules, invite your players and create your first rehearsal. From then on, each player confirms from their phone and you see who is coming.

You send them the band’s invitation link, or you add them yourself with their email. Anyone who joins with the link arrives with their instruments and the admins approve the request.

If someone isn’t going to use the app, you can add them without an email: they appear on the list so attendance can be taken and their details kept, but they get no invitation and have no account.

Yes. Each module has its own switch in Settings, and when you switch one off its data is kept. Some depend on others, and the app tells you: Availability, Attendance, Seating chart, Transport and Engagement hang off the Calendar, and Repertoire tracking also needs the Music library.

Melodistic is made for concert, community and brass bands, marching and bugle bands, music groups and street bands. You can create your own instruments and voices, and name positions the way your band does: librarian, section leader or assistant conductor.

Yes. With one account you can be in several bands and switch between them from the band selector. You can also register another band from there.

Of course. Every new band has 30 days with all the modules open, including the paid ones, to try them with its real players. No strings attached.

If there are up to 20 of you, you carry on with the free plan and the paid modules switch off without deleting anything. If there are more of you, you choose your plan; until you do, management is locked, but no data is lost and everything comes back as soon as you pay.

Each person only receives what they can open: their parts, their events and what applies to them. Phone numbers and contact details are only visible to admins with permission to edit members; a player never sees another player’s phone number. And nobody can give a permission they don’t have.

Each person has “None”, “All” or “Custom” permissions, grouped by module. That way, the principal cornet can take attendance for just the cornets and the librarian can manage the music library without touching the accounts.

In your account’s security centre you can turn on two-step verification by email, see the devices that are logged in and check the access log.

Yes. You can export the members list with each player’s instrument and position, and the attendance of the band or of each player in Excel or CSV, with times and your own fields. The music library can be exported too, in full or by list.

Melodistic is a product of Villadiego OÜ, a company registered in Estonia, within the European Union, so it is governed by the General Data Protection Regulation. Who processes each piece of data and why is explained in the privacy policy. If one day you want to change who owns the band or delete it, write to us and we’ll do it for you.

Yes, for iPhone and for Android, in their app stores. You can also log in from the browser on any computer or tablet, with the same account.

Nearly everything: inviting the band, confirming, taking attendance, opening the sheet music or keeping the accounts. The only thing done from a computer is taking out and managing the band’s subscription.

With the app installed, yes: when an event is created, when the admins announce a change, and reminders before rehearsals and gigs, which never go out at night. Each person chooses which notifications they want for each band.

Yes. Each player has a private link that they paste once into Apple Calendar, Google Calendar or Outlook, and from then on it updates itself, with the call time, the venue and the coach for each event.

Sheet music you’ve downloaded opens offline. And if you check in somewhere without signal, the check-in is saved on your phone and sent by itself as soon as the signal comes back.

Cecilia is the artificial intelligence in Melodistic. In the Music library, you upload the PDF with the full piece and she recognises each part, which instrument and which voice it belongs to, and puts it in its place. In Band rules, she sorts the rules you paste in or upload as a PDF into sections, for you to check before saving.

It isn’t instant, and yes, someone checks it. While Cecilia works, the piece shows as “Processing”; our team reviews the split before it is published and the app lets you know when it’s ready. If you tick “Publish when finished”, it publishes itself at that point.

PDF. Including publishers’ files protected against changes, as long as they open without a password, and their content isn’t touched. Not photos or loose images. If a PDF can’t go in, Cecilia explains why, and warns you if the piece looks like a duplicate.

Sorting out your rules in Band rules, yes. Splitting scores goes with the Music library, so it’s part of the paid plans; during the 30-day trial you can use her with your own music.

The original PDFs are only opened by those who manage your band’s music library and the Melodistic team who review the split. Each player only receives their own part.

Signing up the whole band by hand is a chore and takes hours you don’t have. So we do it: send us your list of players in an Excel spreadsheet and our team registers everyone and has your space ready in 48 to 72 hours. You just log in and start rehearsing.

A spreadsheet with each player’s first name, surname and instrument, and the email address of those who will use the app. If you have more details, such as their position or phone number, send them too. No endless forms.

Yes. Export whatever that app lets you, usually an Excel or CSV file with the members, and send it to us as it is. We’ll sort it out.
